2What this site is

geofeed.network hosts geofeeds: files in the format defined by RFC 8805 that describe where a network operator's IP prefixes are located, so that geolocation providers can read them instead of guessing. It also provides a public validator for checking such a file.

The service is provided free of charge. Using the hosting part of it requires an account; the validator does not.

3Using the site

By accessing this site you accept this notice and the documents linked from it. If you do not accept them, do not use the site.

You agree to use the service lawfully and not to:

  • publish location claims for IP address space you do not hold or operate
  • attempt to access accounts, feeds or data that are not yours
  • use the validator's fetch-by-URL feature to reach hosts you are not authorised to request
  • interfere with the availability of the service or circumvent its rate limits

We may suspend or close an account that does any of these, and we will say why.

4Content you publish

A geofeed is a public document. That is its purpose: it exists so that third parties can fetch it. Anything you enter as prefix location data is served at a public URL with no authentication, and geolocation providers, researchers and anyone else may read, copy and retain it.

You are responsible for the accuracy of what you publish and for holding the rights to publish it. We do not verify your entries before serving them, though the panel will tell you when a registry object disagrees with them.

5Intellectual property

The site's design, source code, texts and marks are the property of AP Interactive Solutions S.L. or are used with permission, except where stated otherwise.

Your data stays yours. Publishing a geofeed here grants us only what is needed to operate the service: to store your entries and to serve them at the URL you were given.

RFC 8805, RFC 9092 and the other specifications referenced on this site are published by the IETF and are not ours. Names of geolocation providers are used descriptively and imply no relationship or endorsement.

6Availability and liability

The service is provided as-is and without a service level agreement. We aim to keep published feed URLs answering, and we verify their output byte-for-byte on every deployment, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted availability.

To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from use of the service, including geolocation decisions that third parties make from a feed. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited under Spanish law, and if you are a consumer your statutory rights are unaffected.

Links to third-party sites are provided for reference. We do not control them and are not responsible for their content.

7Applicable law

This notice is governed by Spanish law. Any dispute will be heard by the courts of Málaga, Spain, unless a mandatory rule — in particular one protecting consumers — gives jurisdiction elsewhere.

8Changes

We may update this notice. The version in force is the one published here, with the date shown at the top of the page.
